Charles Dickens' book Bleak House was originally issued in monthly installments between March of 1852 and September of 1853. The 1853 collection at Southern New Hampshire University's Harry A.B. and Gertrude C. Shapiro Library consists of bound volumes, periodicals, pamphlets, photographs, and other original materials that provide a broad context for the time period. All items in the collection were purchased by the Shapiro Library and Undergraduate Research. This digital archive captures the collection and adds annotation and visualization tools to enable students and the public to interact with these texts in a unique way.
The annotated texts section has the books and other publications from the collection. All texts are available in image and text format. Commentary is allowed on the texts at the paragraph level.
The visualization section will contain images of all of the items in the collection, as well as the raw data set to be downloaded and used with other visualization tools.
